Indigo Mindfulness

Explore Active and Passive Forms of Mindfulness

Indigo Mindfulness

“It takes courage to look inward. It takes courage to grow up and become who we really are.”  --e.e. cummings

Mindfulness is the art of inward intention. Practicing mindfulness involves focusing attention on one’s own emotions, thoughts and sensations as they occur in the present moment. It entails accepting one’s inner landscape and external environment without judgment. If we can learn to sit long enough for our minds to settle, then we begin to see and understand with greater clarity. Horses are great practitioners of mindfulness because they embody living in the moment, ever aware of their surroundings and responsive to their inner sensitivity. We invite you to join the Indigo Herd as they partner with us as we explore the practice of mindfulness.

Mindfulness is a form of self-serveillance and practicing it allows us to observe ourselves instead of just operating on automatic pilot. Through this process of observation, we receive valuable information about ourselves. We become alert to things that we might not have previously even noticed. This brings us to a higher level of self-awareness and it is this self-awareness that opens the door for us to make more conscious choices about how we want to respond to things. We can choose with intention, how we want to live. Operating at this level gives us greater mastery over our lives as we discover our own inner stability, inner strength and a safe place that resides within.

  • Explore active and passive forms of mindfulness.
  • Learn how to use your body as a sensing device.
  • Learn how to cultivate greater self-awareness and make more conscious, self-empowering choices.
  • Explore the fluidity of living in the moment with our horse partners.

I can’t thank you enough for the fabulous - and totally unexpected - experience I had last weekend with you and your wonderfully intuitive horses. From the time we entered the beautiful gate leading to your awesome property, to the time we left, I was totally enchanted, inspired and blown away.
