Andi Klein-Roane, Founder of Indigo Equine

My name is Andi Klein-Roane and I am an Epona-Certified, Equine-Facilitated Learning Practitioner with a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology. Equine-Facilitated Learning (EFL) involves working directly with horses. As highly sensitive prey animals, horses have developed a keen ability to read many forms of non-verbal communication. Perhaps because we as humans, have shared such a unique and close relationship with horses over the centuries, they have become particularly adept at reading us! Our breathing, our heart rate, the way we stand or walk, the way we hold ourselves; all these things are cues to the horse that reveal to them who we are. They read past our facades and uncover our true feelings and emotions. In EFL, we partner horses with humans in on-the-ground activities in order to give people the opportunity to get more in touch with their true feelings. This is a very experiential and hands-on approach to learning, but there is a strong Spiritual component to this work, as well, and it is why I wanted to combine these two complementary practices into one, more comprehensive experience.

To see and understand things from a Soul-Centered perspective means that we look to see the greater lessons that are at play for each one of us. By looking at things through a spiritual point of view, our lens gets bigger and broader. We come to understand who we truly are at an authentic level and what holds true meaning and purpose for us as individuals. At the same time, we gain insight about how we are all connected.

I became certified in EFL, not just because I love horses, (although that definitely was a huge draw for me), but because I truly believe that horses have something very special and unique to offer us. If we are willing to open our hearts and our minds, then we become privy to the wisdom and highly tuned instincts of these amazing, sentient beings. Horses have an uncanny ability to show us who we truly are. They reveal to us how we relate to ourselves and to each other, and how we tend to operate in the world. They show us our weaknesses so that we may turn them into strengths, they uncover our wounds so that we may heal and they call upon our courage so that we may grow.

I have a strong belief that there is more going on in this world than meets the eye. My spirituality colors my interpretation of experiences and events. However, I am also a pragmatist. I live and work in the real world and I know how easy it is to lose sight of yourself and your dreams when faced with the everyday task of surviving in a sometimes harsh and unkind world. I have spent the past twenty-plus years working in the entertainment industry so I know first-hand how challenging it can be to remain true to yourself, or to even know yourself when everyone and everything around you is trying to influence you to be something or someone you’re not. I have found that being with and working with horses is very grounding. They focus our attention on the present so that we live more fully in the moment. Most importantly, horses inspire us to be clear and honest with ourselves and to have the confidence to be honest with others. In this way, we are free to embrace and live our lives from a place of True Self-Empowerment. It has been my experience that when we can walk through this world believing in ourselves and valuing who we truly are, then we live more from a place of love and joy and we inspire others to do the same.

To see yourself through the eyes of a horse is to not only discover who you are, but whom you are capable of becoming.

It would be my privilege and my honor to share in such a journey with you. If this speaks to you, then I invite you to join us at Indigo Equine and begin your own unique journey towards Self-Discovery and Self-Empowerment …Alight Your Spirit!

Nicole Arrington, Equine Specialist

Being a part of Indigo Equine has been a huge part of my life over the past year. Working with the horses and connecting our guests to the spirit of the horses is an enlightening experience that I truly cherish. It is always a refreshing to get out of the busy city of Los Angeles and come out to Roane Ranch. It gives me time to recharge and feel that bigger connection to the world. I recommend coming down with a group of friends, colleagues and family to experience the workshops that Indigo Equine has to offer. I look forward to meeting you!

Ed Roane, Master Chef

I’m Ed Roane, a Master Builder and Designer by trade and a gourmet cook for fun. My younger years were spent on my family’s ranch in Montana, which instilled in me a love and passion for the land and a deep respect and love for nature. As Andi’s partner in life, we hold each other’s visions and dreams. Our ranch and our horses are a manifestation of this. Andi and I are opposites in a lot of ways, but our dream for Indigo Equine at Roane Ranch is the same – to create a place of learning, healing and peace; a sanctuary for the heart and soul. I’ll be here when you come, with a story, a good, hot meal, and a smile that says, “Welcome to Heaven.”
